I’ve been a musician all my life. Not very good nor very talented. But I just play to feed my soul really. And songs come out. And lyrics. All accidental and unplanned. Not inspired by anything other than my moods. I like my good stuff and ignore the stuff I don’t like. I guess I might have written about six good songs in 40 years. Which is not enough to fill a decent album or CD. But I’ve recorded three albums already. So you’ll appreciate I’m not properly impressed with any of them. One is almost all good. One is borderline good and the other is jazz-blues-experimental with my band The Cadillac Kings. It’s a collector’s item as we only released 30 copies! Even I only have it on cassette! But that’s about right when you consider I feel none of my stuff is that good. I don’t pollute the world with CDs or the radio airwaves with wasteful muck. So you could say my music, or my music output is ‘green’. Having said all that, I have high hopes for my latest band The Zander Ran Band, and the material I am preparing is not be played loud and should make you smile, weep, dance, tap your feet and sing along. Some catchy tunes, some a bit bluesy, some with a groove but all with something you might relate to as a listener. We’re going to rehearse until we are tight as a duck’s ass then play everywhere and anywhere any time. To enjoy ourselves and to entertain – in that order. When we’re good, we’ll record a CD of all the new songs and sell it at our gigs for cheap. Then everyone will be happy – for a bit.
